We took the upside of elliptical wings and eliminate all the downsides with clever and modern solutions.
Once you hear the term "elliptical wing", almost all aviation enthusiasts think of the British Spitfire. In all textbooks on aeronautical design one can read that in terms of induced drag and efficient use of the wing area, the elliptical works best. The advantage of an elliptical wing, apart from looking graceful and remembering the legendary Spitfires, is that it simply flies better and faster in all modes due to minimal induced drag. And that is why the ellipse flies fast, safe, economically, and therefore far. Plus, we've integrated anchor points directly into the bottom of the wing, which will come in handy when you fly far.
Safety is one of our key priorities for all ellipse modifications. That's why we've incorporated a unique aerodynamic feature in the design of our aircraft, the slot behind the leading edge of the wing. This is a shaped channel in the wing profile that increases lift and prevents the lift separation at low speeds, allowing flight at higher angles of attack. In cruise mode, the slot channel is locked by the external flow and does not significantly increase the drag of the wing. The slot further improves manoeuvrability, prevents loss of lift and reduces the required runway length. In ellipse aircraft, the slot is part of the unique elliptical wing, where it performs its function in the aileron area. The aircraft is thus very stable, safe to fly and falls steadily forward during a stall, even at low speeds.
The propeller is an art and one of the most important components in terms of safety and the actual flight experience. For the ellipse aircraft, we have selected two propellers that can meet the high performance and noise requirements. The first supplier is the renowned MT-Propeller, a company that has been manufacturing propellers for over 40 years and is a leader in its field. For the highest performance and optimum flight speeds, we install the MTV-33-1-A/175-200 two-blade in-flight adjustable constant speed propeller that will fulfil all your flying dreams while meeting all noise standards. The second representative is the French company E-PROPS, which produces the lightest carbon propellers in the world. The propellers work on the principle of aeroelasticity (variable angle of attack depending on the flight mode). These three-bladed propellers with a diameter of 170 cm are quiet and offer a unique performance that will be appreciated by aero clubs, small jet rental companies or novice pilots.
All ellipse planes are equipped with ROTAX engines, which stand out for their reliability, performance, and low operating costs. ROTAX is the largest manufacturer of aircraft engines in the world. The compact and lightweight design of ROTAX airplanet engines, proven by time and endorsed by hundreds of satisfied aviators, is developed by pilots for pilots and for installations in many types of plane. The goal is to maximize the experience and minimize the weight and hassle of operating the engine. Experienced engineering teams, a wide range of R&D facilities and a dense service network worldwide ensure that ROTAX is the right engine brand for ellipse ultralight aircraft. For your ellipse, we will implement: 915 iS, 912 iS and 912 ULS.
We know that with the ultralight ellipse you will be exploring unfamiliar airports in a variety of destinations, and the surface at the airports you visit is not always ideal. That's why we've designed a robust retractable landing gear that pivots and retracts into the fuselage around a single axis. The landing gear of the ultralight aircraft is electrically powered and its extension or retraction is not dependent on the engine running. Of course, the landing gear can be easily and efficiently retracted by means of the controls in the cockpit. The retractable landing gear is using shock absorbers and is very comfortable in its category.
What good is a plane if it doesn't have a great view in all directions? All this, and in a spacious, airy cabin that is designed for long journeys. That's exactly what the canopy of the ellipse has. The cabin is one of the widest in its class and extends over the luggage compartment. This eliminates the inconvenience of loading luggage into a large aircraft baggage compartment.
We have positioned the tanks in the wings and can fuel the aircraft with up to 120 litres of car fuel. There is no need to search for airports with refuelling facilities and even on long flights to more exotic destinations, fuel is not a problem. The plane's tanks have integrated wave breakers to minimize fuel spillage, and the special high-resistance internal structure makes it suitable for gasoline with an addition of a bio-component. The draining valves at the bottom of the tanks are easily accessible and the tanks can be locked.
The aircraft is equipped with a very efficient single slot Fowler flap that extends beyond the wing outline in three positions. The primary function of the flaps is to reduce the landing speed of the plane and increase the lift of the aircraft. The flap on the ellipse will literally take your breath away. Its efficiency is so high that the airplane is almost stationary in the air and the stall speed drops to 50 km/h. Landing is quite a joy. And so is the take-off. With our efficient flap, you can take off within a few metres.

The Galaxy GRS 6 is the fastest and the lightest certified parachute for the LSA category. It already saved 115 lives and counting. That's the reason we include this system in all our airplanes as standard equipment. Safety shouldn't be optional!
The airplane was tested for g-load of 12g. A typical person without a g-suit can handle about 5 G before losing consciousness. Enjoy the peace of mind knowing the plane takes more than two times more beating than you do.

Ellipse Spirit use engines with excellent economy. When flying it is more likely you will need to land and use a restroom before your fuel tanks run dry.
For example if you fly a 915iS at 145ktas and 4.5 gph, you will cover 937 nm, in 6 hours 48 minutes and burn 31 gallons of fuel.
In reality a 500 nm flight is a far more common scenario. The Ellipse offers the advantage of speed over most aircraft, leaving you with less pilot fatigue.
For example if you fly a 915iS at 80% power and 9gph, you will cover 502 nm, in 2 hours 45 minutes and burn 25 gallons of fuel.
*The exact numbers vary by engine choice, read Ellipse Spirit Brochure for details
Yes, we have transition training ready for you.
That depends a lot on the configuration of the aircraft. It is enough for two people with two bags, though.
